Bata employees who were called up for service in the Armed Forces during the Second World War were guaranteed their jobs on their return after the War.Whilst doing Service for their Country all Bata employees were sent copies of the Bata Record and food/cigarette parcels. Many of them kept in touch with friends both in the Services and in the Factory by writing to the Bata Record about their exploits. In order to keep the Factory running many of the Wives took over their husband's jobs.
The men of the Bata Company who died are remembered on the company War Memorial. Click on the names below to find out more about them.
The names in the table at the bottom have been traced as being killed in the War but are not listed on the War Memorial.
