Most people who have grown up within the Bata Community at East Tilbury agree that it was a good place to live for young people. The unique type of community meant that children and teenagers felt safe and had a lot of clubs and activities to keep them occupied.A lot of activities were organised for the young people growing up on the Estate, Dancing classes, Life Boys, Girls Life Brigade, Scouts, Guides, Fancy Dress Competitions as well as many sporting opportunities.Many young people joined their elders to take part in Pantomimes, Shows and Nativities which were produced in the Cinema.
