One of the most popular men’s shoes, The Consul, has recently been given a new lease of life by the “face lift” which Steve Digby, of the design department, has performed, so that The Consul of today looks like the shoe pictured here.

Known generally as “81 design”, it is made of high quality upper leather with leather soles and rubber heels. It now has the new toe shape to meet the demand of the modern man.

In black or brown, it represents today’s outstanding value at 49s 11d.

It is made in Dept 471, under Foreman D Kerby.
