Starting at East Tilbury after leaving school in 1940, she first worked ind Dept 325, but when the rubber factory closed down during the war transferred to Dept 402, where at present she is an inner-sole binder.

Twenty-two years old, she was re-elected to the M.A.C. at the last general election by a majority of 43 votes.
