He joined the Bata Organisation about two years ago after serving six years in the R.A.F. as an aero-engine fitter.

Prior to the war Jack was an engineer in the north of England, but having married a Tilbury girl towards then don of the war, he moved down south to this area. At present he operates a boring machine, working to such fine limits as one hundredth of a millimeter.
