Robert started at East Tilbury in 1938, after his family had moved back to Tilbury from Gravesend, and after working in various departments came to Dept 323 where, at present, he is stretching shin rubber.

Married, his first daughter, Bobbie Ann was born on May 4. robert has been on the Committee since the general election in October of last year.
