For the third time since this series began we feature a young lady, Miss Ruth Williams, who has worked with the Company since 1934 when she started in the leather factory learning to work a sewing machine on Department 487.
During the next two years she was employed in several departments doing various operations in the sewing sections. Then in 1937 she first joined Department 423 stitching toes and vamps. In August of that year she joined the Management Advisory Committee where she served until whe was made forewoman of Department 423 in 1938.
Since she has been in charge of that sewing department, they have won two competitions and Miss Williams has received souvenir prizes. She was hostess at a recent dinner given to celebrate their success in the last competition.
