In October, 1933, three months after the factory's inception, Mr J Wyatt first came to work at East Tilbury.
After working for six months in the office, he was transferred to the rubber factory as manipulator to Department 301. Here he learned all the processes in the rubber manipulation and in May, 1936, he visited Zlin to perfect his knowledge of that work.
On his return to East Tilbury he was appointed foreman of Department 306, where he remained until September, 1938, when he was made chief manipulator to the rubber factory. In this position he controlled all materials issued by the manipulation departments to the assembly.
After six months in his new job, he was further promoted to chief examiner of the rubber factory, succeeeding Mr E Martin who has now been made floor manager.
Mr Wyatt is a member of the sports cllub committee and a regular player in the "A" football team.
