He was riding a motor cycle on Military business for the Royal Army Service Corps, when he was involved in a collision with another Military vehicle, and he died from his injuries.
He had worked at East Tilbury for 18 months before enlisting for Military Service in October 1939 and was barely 24 when he died.
He is buried in the Aldershot Military Cemetery.
