Warrant Officer in 89th Squadron R.A.F.
Son of Arthur Milner and Irene Houlden Phillipson of Chilwell, Nottinghamshire.
Joined R.A.F. in June 1939, and killed in a flying accident in the Middle East aged 20.
Before joining the forces he was a Junior Assistant in the Companies Sales at Brixton.
Awarded the D.F.C.
DFC Citation - London Gazette 19/2/1943:883.
"Sgt Phillipson invariably displayed outstanding skill and courage during air operations, recently as an observer he participated in the destruction of three enemy aircraft. His determination and gallantry have been an example of the highest order"
