Joseph Hughes died in hospital in Kent in December 1944, aged 38, after a long illness.
He had joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in August 1942 and was in ill health on discharge, never fully recovering.
Joseph was the husband of Jessie Elizabeth Hughes of Cambridge and is buried in Stanford-le Hope Cemetery, Essex.
